What is it?
Kyphoplasty treats selected vertebral compression fractures. A balloon creates a space within the fractured vertebra, followed by placement of bone cement to provide support.
When might it be considered?
The team assesses fracture timing, pain pattern, imaging, and response to nonsurgical care. The procedure is not appropriate for every fracture or every cause of back pain.
How it works
The procedure uses image guidance in an appropriate surgical setting. Imaging is not performed on site at the Roswell office.
